Three years after the start of the Syria crisis, Lebanon and Syria share a growing nexus of insecurity and strategic competition. Instability along the Bekaa frontier along the Lebanese-Syrian border and the effects of more than 800,000 displaced Syrians continue to spread to Beirut and other urban centers, serving to complicate efforts by the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to restore and maintain internal stability in Lebanon, reduce the effects of the Syria crisis and avoid further internal divisions.

CSIS Burke Chair in Strategy Senior Fellow Aram Nerguizian will discuss his recent trip to Lebanon, and what role the U.S. and its allies can play in the quest for stability in the Levant.
