2013 marks Sebastián Piñera's final year as president of Chile. The upcoming elections offer an opportunity to review what has been an extraordinary period in Chilean history, marked by economic growth, increasing social unrest, and political uncertainty.  While there is no doubt that there have been important achievements in terms of modernization and prosperity, the Piñera government has consistently faced challenges and it is clear that the predominant political model of the past quarter century is eroding. Dr. Funk's discussion will examine the likely scenarios for the fall elections and the challenges that lie ahead for the next administration.

Open to the public; however, seating is limited.  To RSVP, send confirmation to the Americas Program at americas@csis.org
