A Forum with the South African Minister of Health

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted a forum with the South African Minister of Health, The Hon. Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi.

Since his appointment as national Health Minister in May 2009, Dr. Motsoaledi has provided new vision and leadership in moving the South African government to more effectively manage the HIV/AIDS epidemic—setting in place clear goals for achieving universal treatment access, embracing new prevention technologies and expanding social mobilization in combating HIV/AIDS. Dr. Motsoaledi will talk about these efforts, as well as the systems-wide management and financing reforms underway to achieve greater affordability, improved efficiency and better health outcomes.

Dr. Motsoaledi’s presentation will be followed by discussion lead by a distinguished panel:

Ambassador Eric Goosby, US Global AIDS Coordinator
Jennifer Cooke, Director of the Africa Program, CSIS

Discussion will be moderated by Kaiser Senior Vice President Dr. Michael Sinclair.
