CSIS works on the many issues unique to each of the two parts of the African continent: North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The CSIS Africa Program released a new CSIS study series Stress Testing African States that examines the risks of instability in 10 African countries over the next decade: Angola, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sudan, and Uganda.

Sub-Regions

  • The Middle East Program and the Africa Program lead CSIS analysis of this vast region.

  • The Africa Program, along with programs and scholars focused on health and energy issues, analyze a host of issues affecting the region.
